SIH Foundation 2018 Gala – Helping Our Southern Illinois Neighbors

The 2018 SIH Foundation Gala will benefit SIH Patient & Community Support Funds. SIH Patient & Community Supports Funds were established to assist patients in need during cancer/medical treatments and to further the efforts of providing quality patient care throughout southern Illinois.

The party begins at 6 pm in the SIU Student Center International Lounge and Ballrooms on Friday, April 13th. This will be an evening filled with live music from NashVegas Allstars, gourmet hors-d’oeuvres and food stations, incredible open bar options, and fantastic auction items!

FAMILY FRIENDSHIP FUND has assisted over 13,000 patients since 2002 totaling $456,000. This fund was established to help SIH patients facing a financial emergency up discharge from a SIH medical facility. We are able to help those patients with an emergency need such as transportation home, prescriptions given at the time of discharge, emergency lodging, clothing, or meals.

COACH KILL FUND has assisted over 1500 patients since 2007 totaling $589,000. The fund was established as a result of Coach Jerry Kill’s personal experience with cancer. The fund is assisting with such expenses as fuel to and from cancer treatments, co-pay’s, cancer-related medical bills, prescription assistance, nutritional needs, transportation costs and medical equipment related to cancer treatment.

CANCER CARE PATIENT SUPPORT FUND has assisted over 160 patients since 2016 totaling $22,000. The fund was established in 2016 by the SIH Foundation to assist patients of the SIH Cancer Institute with such expenses as fuel to and from cancer treatments, co-pay’s, cancer-related medical bills, prescription assistance, nutritional needs, transportation costs and medical equipment related to cancer treatment.
