Watching a loved on who has been diagnosed with cancer can be heart-wrenching. It can also be eye-opening as you may witness a calm and strength in them that you never knew they had.

Do you have a relative or a friend who is a cancer survivor? Have you witnessed their battle and been amazed by their strength and courage?

Southern Illinois Healthcare Cancer Services is seeking the “Star Survivor of the Year.” If you know someone deserving the honor – please submit in 100 words or less who they are and why you think they deserve to be recognized.

All nominees will be invited to this year's Annual Cancer Survivor celebration to be held on June 6, at the Herrin Civic Center. The winner will be announced that evening and given a special award and prize basket.

Please be sure to include your name, address and telephone number, as well as contact information for the cancer survivor you are nominating. Deadline for entries is May 23!
