Industrial rehabilitation is provided through Fit For Work, with locations in Anna, Herrin and Carbondale.
Fit For Work assists in the prevention and treatment of workplace injuries – helping workers improve their physical condition to avoid injury on the job or return with confidence after an injury.
Therapists help workers address the factors that make industrial injuries unique, such as prolonged postures, repetitive movements and material handling. Each program is tailored to individual needs.
Fit For Work also offers specialized programs including;
- Back schools teach methods for avoiding unnecessary risk of back injury. Classes help identify bad posture, proper lifting techniques and safe exercises for building strength.
- Work Hardening focuses on job simulation and performing tasks such as lifting or climbing that are required for specific jobs. Tasks are structured to gradually increase in intensity to build tolerance.
- Work Conditioning is a great program for workers who are not able to tolerate the physical demands of work conditioning. Activities are similar, but begin at a lighter pace.
- Other programs include modified duty programs, functional capacity evaluations, job placement screenings, ergonomic assessments and wellness training.
