It is important for an occupational health program to be staffed with experienced medical personnel who understand how to treat work-related injuries to ensure both the appropriate medical treatment for the employee and an understanding of the employer’s business needs.

The WorkCare staff includes a medical director, a physician assistant and a medical technician who have many years of combined experience in serving the health care needs of business and industry.

Physicians providing services at and admitting patients to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Herrin Hospital and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital are not employees of the hospitals. Physicians exercise their own independent judgment regarding medical care and treatment and the hospitals are not responsible for their actions.
