A drug-free workplace increases productivity, decreases absenteeism and decreases the rate of accidents and injuries. Because substance abuse in the workplace is a costly problem, SIH WorkCare offers medical surveillance services including drug screens, breath alcohol testing and post-accident testing.

Other testing services are provided to ensure that current and potential employees are capable of performing the essential functions of their job. Function tests include DOT physicals and post-offer physical function screenings.

To promote productive, healthy employees, SIH WorkCare Occupational Health offers audiology, EKG testing and biological monitoring.

These medical screenings feature data collection and review by WorkCare staff and the medical specialists available through the Southern Illinois Healthcare system of care.
