Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You? Register now for free informational sessions

If you struggle with your weight, you are not alone. Millions of Americans today are considered overweight or obese. Bariatric surgery is intended for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater. A person with a BMI of 35 or greater and one or more co-morbid conditions may qualify for bariatric surgery.

A co-morbid condition is a disorder or disease you have in addition to a primary disorder or disease you have in addition to a primary disorder or disease - especially if the secondary condition is causee by your primary condition. For example, the primary disease of obesity can lead to several co-moribd conditions, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension (high-blood pressure), high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnea and many others. Bariatric surgery can, in many cases, improve or resolve co-morbid conditions.
