Patients & Visitors Information

General Policies

We welcome visitors, but please remember that our patients’ medical care is our first concern. Please help us enhance the quality of care by respecting established guidelines. Note that certain departments may have additional policies.

  1. No more than two visitors are allowed at the bedside at one time. Children 6-12 years of age may visit if accompanied by an adult. Noisy or crowded rooms prevent patient rest. Keep visits short and avoid unnecessary noise.
  2. People with colds, sore throats or other contagious diseases should not visit patients.
  3. Please be cooperative if asked to leave the room during tests, treatments or during a physician or nursing visit. Wear appropriate clothing, including shirt and shoes.
  4. Cigarettes and other tobacco products are not sold at SIH facilities. Effective January 1st, 2013, for the health of you and our patients, SIH and SIH Medical Group campuses are tobacco free.
