Local efforts helping local people
#GivingTuesday is the biggest giving movement in the world, fueled by the power of social media and community collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following U.S. Thanksgiving (December 3rd this year), #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Last year, over $400 million was raised online for various charities on this special day.
#GivingTuesday at SIH
#GivingTuesday is more than just a day to give. It's a statement of pride and the chance for Southern Illinois to support the SIH mission of improving the health and well-being of all the people in the communities we serve. Not a day passes when someone's life isn't impacted by a health challenge. The SIH Patient & Community Support Funds were established to assist patients in need during medical treatments, and to further the efforts of providing quality patient care throughout the region.
- Camp BETA - Youth Diabetes Fund
- Cancer Care Patient Support Fund
- Coach Kill Fund
- Family Friendship Fund
- Outpatient Clinic Critical Need Fund
Funds are also needed to support the expansion plans of the SIH Cancer Institute, and other SIH building and equipment needs such as our newly designated Level II Trauma Center at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Donations made this #GivingTuesday will have an even greater impact on the SIH mission. Gifts received on this day will be matched up to $6,000 (cumulative) through the generosity of the SIH Foundation Board of Directors.
Thank you for your support! Together we can change lives!
