Non-healing Wounds & Open Ulcers

Various situations—a surgical wound, diabetes or long-term bedrest—can lead to non-healing wounds. It’s our circulatory system that sends oxygenated blood to wounds in order for them to coagulate and heal. However, should your system be compromised, wounds will have a difficult time healing. If left untreated, it can lead to very dangerous issues including infection, gangrene and even worse, amputation.

Ask your primary care physician about a referral to Prairie Vascular Services or Center for Wound Healing.
