Managed Care Networks
Although Southern Illinois Healthcare accepts all insurance plans, we are only considered a preferred/in-network provider with the following insurance plans and provider networks. Our status as a contracted in-network or preferred provider does not guarantee payment of services by the health plan. Furthermore, we are neither endorsing these particular networks nor disapproving any other network that is not listed.
This list is a reference tool, subject to change, meant only to help you identify which managed care networks we may currently be a participating/in-network provider with. It is recommended that you contact your health plan prior to any services or procedures to verify that your health plan recognizes us as a preferred provider/in-network facility.
For information regarding how services and procedures will be covered, whether or not a service or procedure requires pre-authorization or any other questions regarding coverage or eligibility, you should contact your health plan by calling the number listed on the back of your health insurance Member Identification cards.

Price Transparency
SIH is committed to price transparency and has posted this list of charges for inpatient and outpatient services. However, it is likely not a helpful tool for a patient to know what their financial obligation will be or to shop between hospitals. For more information about the charge for your care and to obtain an estimate, please contact our patient financial services staff at 1-800-457-1393 Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or for our self-service tool click here for an estimate.
Patient Estimates
Looking for an estimate? SIH is pleased to offer a self-service tool to obtain an estimate for over 300 unique services. Robust functionality includes an immediate real-time response, emailing an estimate record, and insurance plan benefit design for most payers. Patient options include guest estimates (no sign in required) or sign into your MyChart account. Click here for an estimate.
Average Charges by DRG
These are total average charges by DRG for recent inpatients at SIH memorial hospital of Carbondale and SIH Herrin hospital, and include items such as room and bed, and, as applicable, surgical and recovery services, lab tests, imaging exams, and other services ordered by clinicians for the care of the patient. Actual charges could vary significantly by patient since they are influenced by their medical condition, length of time spent in surgery or recovery, complications requiring unanticipated procedures, kinds of medications, and other factors. Similar to charges for procedures, drugs, and supply items, these very likely do not represent your financial obligation (out of pocket costs).
