Celebrating Our Fortunate Finds

SIH recently gathered at The Pavilion in Marion to celebrate a remarkable milestone — 446 employees recognized for nearly 5,500 years of collective service. The annual Years of Commitment Ceremony, themed “Fortunate Finds: Shining Stars and Hidden Treasures,” highlighted the loyalty, compassion and dedication that defines SIH.

“Tonight, we’ve celebrated not just years of service, but lifetimes of dedication — countless lives touched and hearts that have given so much,” said SIH Director of Culture and Patient Experience Jeffery Reece, who as emcee brought his signature humor and heartfelt appreciation to the evening. “Whether you’ve been here five years or 55, you are the reason SIH is who we are today.”

The event honored colleagues with milestones ranging from five to 55 years, showcasing stories of personal growth, teamwork and lifelong connections. During the evening, SIH also recognized

Employees of the Quarter and Employees of the Year, honoring individuals whose commitment and compassion exemplify SIH’s mission.

SIH President and CEO John Antes reflected on the legacy of service that stretches across generations.

“It’s an honor to celebrate the people who’ve helped us build, grow and improve over the decades. And behind every one of those years is a story of dedication to our patients and our community,” said Antes.

SIH Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Molly Hamilton added her gratitude for the employees who make SIH exceptional.

“Every person recognized tonight has played a part in shaping the culture of care that makes SIH special,” Hamilton said. “Their loyalty and compassion inspire us all to continue creating an environment where people thrive — both as professionals and as human beings.”

The soiree featured dinner, music and laughter, culminating in a standing ovation for those who have given their time, talent and heart to advancing health and well-being in Southern Illinois.

“You are our shining stars, our hidden treasures,” Reece said in closing. “Your dedication makes SIH’s future brighter than ever.”
