Herrin Hospital Auxiliary
Herrin Hospital Auxiliary was organized in 1982 and has approximately 150 members. It is very much involved in many areas of the hospital, and you will recognize volunteers by their pink smocks or burgundy vests and their bright smiling faces. Dues are $5.00 per year for the period beginning April 1. The auxiliary’s annual membership meeting is held each year in March, when new officers are elected and installed.

Applications may be picked up in the gift garden.
Volunteer duties include operating the cash register and charge card machine, processing phone orders, and providing customer service. Shifts are available from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm The Gift Garden is our main source of fund raising and has helped the auxiliary donate hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment and furnishings to the hospital.
Surgery Hospitality Desk
Surgery Hospitality Desk volunteers keep coffee bar and supplies in good order, and cooperate with medical and nursing staff to keep family and friends of patients informed of patient status. Shifts are available weekdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Volunteers who can give a few hours of their time to work on a project-by-project basis are always needed. Volunteers assist throughout the hospital by delivering mail, equipment and documents and assembling patient education material. Shifts are available weekdays from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
