SIH Neurosciences

Back and neck pain are extremely common—in fact, up to 85% of Americans will experience them at some point in their lives. While many people improve with little or no treatment, some need more specialized care. You should make an appointment with SIH if:

  • Your pain is so severe that you have trouble moving around
  • You are experiencing chronic pain, which is persistent pain that lasts for at least three months
  • You are also experiencing symptoms such as numbness in your leg, foot, or groin, or loss of bladder or bowel control

Our interventional pain management team uses advanced procedures to diagnose, treat, and manage pain. These treatments can reduce the length and intensity of pain, help you return to daily activities, and even improve your sleep.

Pain Management Options May Include:

  • Injections of pain-relieving medicine or steroids around nerves, tendons, joints, or muscles to reduce inflammation
  • Spinal cord stimulation, which masks pain signals before they reach the brain
  • Targeted medication delivery systems
  • Radiofrequency ablation or cryoablation, which heat or cool a small area of nerve tissue to decrease pain signals

You shouldn’t have to live in pain. We help patients manage a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Degenerative disc disease or herniated discs
  • Arm and leg pain from radiculopathy or sciatica
  • Facet joint or sacroiliac joint pain
  • Complex regional pain syndrome
  • Cancer-related pain
  • Bursitis, tendinitis, and other soft tissue pain syndromes
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Pain related to spasticity, stroke, or multiple sclerosis (MS)
