If you or a loved one is living with lymphedema—whether as a result of cancer treatment, surgery, radiation therapy, trauma, or a congenital condition—you may be experiencing symptoms such as persistent swelling in the arms, legs, or other parts of the body. This swelling can lead to discomfort, limited range of motion, increased risk of infection, and a decreased quality of life.

Our certified lymphedema therapists provide comprehensive, evidence-based care designed to reduce swelling, manage symptoms, and help patients regain function and confidence in daily life. Our program uses Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), the gold standard of lymphedema treatment, which integrates multiple therapeutic approaches.

Treatment Options

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) - A gentle, hands-on technique that stimulates the lymphatic system and encourages the natural flow of lymph fluid out of the swollen area. This reduces swelling and helps prevent further fluid buildup.
  • Compression Therapy - Graduated compression bandaging or garments are used to maintain the effects of manual drainage, prevent fluid reaccumulation, and support continued lymph flow. Our therapists provide education on proper application and use of garments.
  • Exercise Therapy - Specialized exercises tailored to each patient help improve lymphatic drainage through muscle movement and joint mobility. These exercises are designed to be safe and effective while minimizing the risk of flare-ups.
  • Skin and Nail Care Education - Patients receive vital education on protecting the skin and preventing infections such as cellulitis, which can be a serious complication of lymphedema.
  • Self-Management Training - We empower patients with the tools and knowledge they need to manage their condition independently. This includes instruction in self-massage techniques, bandaging, skin care, and lifestyle strategies to reduce flare-ups.

For many people with lymphedema, timely and effective therapy can significantly improve daily function and comfort—and prevent further progression of the condition. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing lymphedema for years, our compassionate rehabilitation team is here to help.
